Leaving for University

Classroom

We understand that leaving home for university can be a worrying time for both parents and students alike. Recent years have had a significant impact on young people's educational experiences and their mental health, making this transition even harder.

Worryingly, the latest research from Student Minds shows that 50% of university students report a mental health issue and 1 in 4 of them are unsure how to access support. That's why we've created a programme designed to bridge the transition to university life and support young people as they navigate these new challenges.  Some sessions are held before you leave and some are run remotely once you've started your course.

Our programme is tailored to match the needs of each individual, so your free 30-minute session is an opportunity for us to work together and create the plan of support that's right for you. While we will always work to your agenda, you may want to choose some of the following topics:

- Financial anxiety

- What to expect in the first few weeks

- Becoming independent

- Managing homesickness and loneliness

- Building a support network

- Exam stress
